Terrorism is a word which everyone on Earth has become acquainted with in recent years. For two decades our laptops, phones, and television screens have been inundated with images of unimaginable violence and destruction, often tied to the amorphous group known as “terrorists”. Who classifies as a terrorist- and what actions are considered terrorism–is largely dependent upon not academic or legal definitions, but what the society in which the term is utilized considers an existential threat.
